Intent Data Is the Key: Why Your CRM and Claude Still Need Albacross
Your CRM can store every account. Claude can run every play. But neither of them can tell you who is ready to buy this week. That answer comes from intent data, and it's the piece that decides whether the rest of your stack works at all.
In 5 Sales Plays Orchestrated by Claude, Attio and Slack, we showed how Claude can run the Albacross rules of thumb for a whole team. In My Morning Call List, I shared the setup I use myself to start every day with a ready list in Slack.
Both posts had the same three ingredients. This one steps back and asks a simple question: which of the three actually decides who you call?
It's not the CRM, and it's not the AI.
The CRM is the infrastructure. Claude is the orchestration. Albacross is the prioritization. Get the first two right and you have a fast machine. Get the third right and that machine points at the right accounts.
The CRM: your infrastructure
Attio, HubSpot or Salesforce is where everything you know lives. It's the foundation every other step stands on.
A good CRM gives you:
- Memory: every call, email, note and meeting, on the right company record.
- Ownership: who owns the account, the territory and the renewal.
- Status: customer, open deal, lost deal, or never spoken to.
- Structure: lists, fields and tasks that the rest of the stack can read and write to.
What the CRM can't do is notice when something changes outside it. It knows you spoke to a company in March. It has no idea they spent twenty minutes on your pricing page this morning.
The CRM tells you what has happened. It can't tell you what is happening right now.
Claude: your orchestration
Claude is the layer that does the legwork between tools. It reads, checks, writes and reports, on a schedule or whenever you ask.
In our setup, Claude:
- Checks the CRM before anything reaches a rep: existing customers, open deals and recent conversations are filtered out.
- Writes back notes, tasks and list entries, so the record stays complete.
- Drafts the opener based on what the company looked at and what Attio already knows.
- Posts to Slack or Teams, with the owner tagged and the context attached.
That's a huge amount of work taken off a sales team. But orchestration is only as good as its input. Point Claude at a list of 500 accounts with no signal, and it will efficiently research, brief and post 500 accounts that aren't buying.
Claude can run any play you give it. It can't make up the signal that tells it which accounts deserve the play.
Albacross: your prioritization
This is the key. Albacross answers the two questions the rest of the stack can't: whom to contact, and when.
Intent data is what companies do before they ever fill in a form. They read your product pages, compare your pricing, come back three times in a week, and send a second colleague to look. Albacross turns that activity into named companies, and then scores them by fit and intent.
Whom to contact
- Fit: does the company match your ideal customer profile on country, industry and size?
- Persona: who inside that company matches the roles you sell to, with a verified email or phone number?
When to contact them
- High-intent pages: pricing, product and Contact Us visits signal evaluation, not curiosity.
- Return visits: a company that comes back this week is moving. One that visited once in July is not.
- Depth: time on site and number of pages show how seriously they are looking.
- Recency: interest fades fast. The same signal is worth far more today than in two weeks.
Put together, that's a ranked order. Not a list of everyone who visited, but the short list of accounts showing buying behaviour right now, and the people inside them you should talk to.

Without intent data, your CRM and Claude are working on guesses. With it, they're working on demand that already exists.
How the three layers work together
Each layer has one job. None of them can do the others' job.

Here's what that looks like on a normal morning:
- Albacross ranks. Overnight, it identifies the companies on your site and scores them. Today's top account hit pricing twice and matches your ICP.
- Claude checks. It looks the company up in Attio: not a customer, no open deal, last contact eight months ago.
- Claude prepares. It pulls the persona contacts from Albacross, adds the history from Attio and drafts a two-line opener about the product they viewed.
- Slack delivers. The account lands in the rep's channel with everything attached.
- Attio remembers. The rep calls, replies in the thread, and Claude logs the note and the follow-up task.
Take Albacross out of that loop and step 1 disappears. Claude still runs, the CRM still fills up, but the list is built on who you already know instead of who is looking today.
And on 17 November, the loop gets tighter. The Albacross MCP connects Claude straight to Albacross, so you can ask questions like "which ICP companies looked at pricing this week?" and get a ranked answer in seconds.
Infrastructure and orchestration make your team faster. Prioritization makes sure that speed is spent on the right accounts.
Keep a human in the loop
Intent data tells you where to look. The conversation is still yours.
- Signal decides the order, people decide the approach. A high score means call today, not send a template.
- Tune the scoring first. If the list feels wrong, adjust your ICP and personas in Albacross before you touch Claude's instructions.
- Write to your own fields. Let Claude add notes, tasks and lists in your CRM rather than overwrite core data.
- Stay compliant. Albacross identifies companies, not individuals, and is GDPR compliant. Keep your outreach to the same standard.
Final thoughts
Most teams already have the infrastructure. More and more have the orchestration. What's usually missing is the signal that tells both of them where to point.
- The CRM is your infrastructure: it remembers everything.
- Claude is your orchestration: it does the work between tools.
- Albacross is your prioritization: it tells you whom to contact, and when.
You don't need more accounts in your CRM, or more automations in your stack. You need to know which accounts are buying right now.
Intent data is the key. Everything else is how fast you turn it.
